June 10, 2001: New information has been added to the GT Admissions Application page. It gives more details and answers questions that have been asked by Ukrainian students and their parents. Click HERE to view the changes. You may also reach the changed page from the Index page under "Distance Learning".
We have also added a new children's story to the index page. It is the classic of "Cinderella". Click HERE to go directly to the story.
April 26, 2001:A new section has been added under Educational Initiatives. To date we have web pages for Ternopil School 19 and Ternopil Secondary School 27.
March 26, 2001:South Carolina has mountains very much like Ukraine's Carpathians. For those of you who plan to come to South Carolina in the future, you will find a little bit of "home" already here. We have added a photo gallery of the Mountains of South Carolina for your preview. Click HERE to visit the gallery. Links can also be found under "Greenville" and "Photo Gallaries" on the index page.
March 21, 2001:A new feature has been added to the index page. It is Bedtime Stories for children. The current story is "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Caroll. Be sure to bookmark the page when you start reading a bedtime story. We will change the current bedtime story from time to time and if you don't book mark, you may not get to finish the story.
March 20, 2001: School No. 19 of Ternopil, presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, an English language play of an American Fairy Tale. A New link has been added to the index page called "Ukrainian School and Educational Initiatives".
A New photo gallery has been added. It is called Daily Life In Ternopil Region and contains photos of everyday family activities throughout the year.
March 18, 2001: The GT Admissions procedure has been updated with additional information.
March 10, 2001: There are two new pages that will be of interest to the Ukrainian Students. Together these give a better understanding of the process that a student must complete to obtain the visa and admission to a college in the U.S. Click Here for the main page. February 9, 2001: A new addition has been made to the "Art" page. Ukrainian writer and artist Eugenia Sakevich Dallas joins our featured artists section.
February 3, 2001: For the students who will be going to the USA to study or to visit in Greenville, South Carolina, we have added a page of links to various GREENVILLE web sites that will give you much information about the City and the area.
You will notice on the home or index page we now have two "time/temperaure" instruments. One gives the current time and temperature in Ternopil and the other in Greenville. If you want more information and forecasts for either city, just click on the instrument for that city.
January 5, 2001: New Ukrainian photos have been added in the People and Region photo gallaries. Thanks to our photo contributions from our Ukrainian friends. Beautiful photography.
January 2, 2001: The new photo series on the index page will change on a regular basis. Some photos will be from the U.S.A., others from Ukraine. Always click on the small picture to enlarge it.
Also there have been additions to the distance learning pages. Students will want to read the updated information.
We are considering removing the discussion forums from our web site. It is not getting enough use to justify the cost of maintaining it. If you want to keep it, then use it, otherwise say bye,bye.

October 1, 2000: A new article entitled "An Economic/Political Strategy for Democratic Ukraine" has been added to the section containing articles and essays. It is by Dr. Helmsworth Greystone, who will participate in our Discussion Forums and respond to your comments.
September 28, 2000:America's Story is a new section that has been added today. It is an experiment to see if Ukrainians are interested in reading about how America got started and how its government was formed. We will be using true, eye-witness accounts of historical events that shaped this country. Not all will be complimentary, but all will be true. They will be presented as they were written. The first story is "The Voyage of the Mayflower" and the first document drafted by men to govern themselves in this new world in the year 1620.

August 9, 2000: You may have noticed that some of the topics on the discussion board have not been displaying. This is because no one has posted a message or reply to that topic within the last thirty days. The problem has been corrected by making the time period longer before the topic is automatically removed from the discussion board. We will leave the bulletin board/forum operating until after school has started and run a few weeks in both countries, however, the forum is too expensive to maintain on the web site with little or no use. If you want to keep it, use it!

July 21, 2000: The Ternopil City Photo Gallery is now being constructed. It has a number of excellent photos of Ternopil posted. Also we have started a photo gallery of Ternopil Region's People. Go to the "photo galleries" on the index page or simply click Here to find the new Photo Galleries.
July 15, 2000: A new section follows the progress of the Library project. We have posted photos of the first truck load of books we have received and will post new photos as the collection grows. Click Here to go to the Current Projects page and follow the link in the Library section.
July 7, 2000: As you can see, we are reworking the web site to make it easier to navigate. The new site index replaces the old page and makes finding things easier. Be sure to explore the new library it contains a lot of new resources. Magazines of all kinds from all over the world, a new encyclopedia with a search engine to makes things easy to find, and the National Geographic Magazine which everyone must explore with the children, especially the children's section which has some interactive elements. The UCPI page is now posted. It gives a good history of the organization and its work.
June 30, 2000: Now you can read the Newspapers of the World in the Virtual Library faster than you can get a subscription flown in. From New York to Moscow to Warsaw to London and around the world. Find your favorite such as The Wall Street Journal, Pravda, USA Today and hundreds more. This is a really useful addition to the e-library.
June 27, 2000: Carey Mason has just finished posting our Discussion Forums on the web site. This will allow free interchange of ideas on various topics. This is a MAJOR ADDITION to our web site. Please visit it often and share your comments and opinions on any of the posted topics. If you wish to start a new topic, you can also do that. If you have any questions, just put it on the BB. Someone will answer it right away. For our Ukrainian friends with limited English, WELCOME, we admire your ability to speak, read or write even part of a second language. Most of the USA participants will have no Ukrainian words to begin with.

Jun 18, 2000: Russkaja Literatura is a collection of literature and newspapers in the Russian Language in the on-line library. Also you may find a good collection of Non-English, Foreign Books now in the virtual library.
June 12, 2000: An important addition has been made to the Business Section. The U.S. Department of Commerce's BISNIS on-line contains up to date commercial, financial, economic and political news for all of the former Soviet Republics. A special link for Ukraine is provided.
June 6, 2000: Two new and powerful search engines have been added. You can find them at the bottom of each page by clicking on the "search" button. MONSTERCRAWLER actually combines the search results of many other search engines. It is fast and extensive. The second search engine is SPINFINDER , which specializes in finding information about countries. Just type in the name of the country and Spinfinder returns many good links to that Country.
June 6, 2000: Ukrainian Political Resources are now available on the Politics and Government Section.
May 29, Politics and Government is now on line. We have begun this sizable topic with USA political campaigns for President. You can now follow the political battle between George W. Bush and Al Gore as they seek the U.S. Presidency this fall. Read all of their speeches and much more.
May 27,Books On Line Today we are announcing the opening of the library. Over 11,000 books are now available free on-line.
May 25, Most of the links now work. There are still some pages with no content other than placeholder material. Please report by e-mail any links that do not work. Tell us which page it is on and the name of the link not working. We need everyone's help on this. More of the older style pages have been updated. The tourist page has a new look. There is a new article by Andrew Gregorovich in the history topic Ancient Inventions in Ukraine.
