In the United States this is a Presidential election year. The two major political parties are preparing for their National Conventions this summer where they will nominate their candidates for president. For all practical purposes, Al Gore will be the candidate of the Democratic party and George W. Bush will be the candidate of the Republican party. Other smaller parties will choose their candidates but it is unlikely that any of them will be strong enough to capture many votes nation wide.

We want to offer our Ukrainian friends a chance to follow the campaigns of these two candidates. You can follow the Republican Party's probable candidate, George W. Bush, learn all about his campaign and read all of his speeches by clicking on GEORGE W. BUSH .
